Methods Of Testing Port Machinery Parts
With the continuous improvement of ports, port machinery is also constantly improving. Port cranes play a key role in the entire lifting. In order to ensure safety, non-destructive testing is usually carried out. Through timely investigation, you can know where the fault is. Can quickly remedy and avoid accidents.
The main beam of port machinery is subjected to countless repeated alternating loads, pressures and other loads during long-term use, so that metal fatigue damage will lead to various defects. At the same time, it will be reduced by factors such as oxidation, corrosion, and environment. Use safety. The detection and evaluation of the active defects of the main beam is an important measure and means to avoid the occurrence of safety accidents.
The weld inspection of port machinery is divided into offline inspection and online inspection. Offline inspection refers to the quality inspection of the welding seam by the crane before leaving the factory or in the non-working state after the component is welded. Offline testing is a necessary guarantee for product quality. On-line inspection refers to the quality inspection and monitoring of welds when cranes are in service, which is a necessary guarantee for safe production.
Magnetic particle inspection is generally used for surface crack detection of hooks on port machinery. In addition to the undercut groove of the hook thread and the root of the neck, the bending part of the hook (that is, the dangerous section) should also be the focus of fatigue crack inspection. A combination of coil method and yoke method for longitudinal magnetization inspection can better find cracks. The coil method can find defects perpendicular to the coil axis, and the neck and thread of the hook can be inspected by the coil method.
There is also non-destructive testing of other parts of port machinery. Ultrasonic testing can be used for the inspection of important load-bearing axles such as the traveling axle, pulley axle, and reel axle of the gantry crane. Since ultrasonic testing has strong penetrating power and is more sensitive to cracks at variable cross-sections, it is convenient to use for shaft detection.
